About Rhonda Leese

Rhonda Lynn Leese was born in Baltimore, Maryland. At the age of six, her family moved to Southern York County. She was always involved in many activities and hobbies growing up – but her love of art, writing and nature have always been a prominent part of her life.

Rhonda has won several awards and acknowledgments for both her art and poetry. Her first publication was in National Geographic. It was an Earth Day scene published in 1994 while she was in high school. Also, her first paid poetry publication was at the age of 15.

Rhonda is a self-taught artist, mother of 6 (ages 7-20) and a PCA (Personal Care Assistant) for the elderly in her community. Rhonda has a love for her community and a passion for the arts.

Currently her work is in local galleries, and she often does community shows in the Harrisburg Area. Rhonda is a member of Harrisburg Art Association, Art International, Female Identity Art, Barcelona Art Gallery Group, and many more local and worldwide art associations and groups.

Rhonda says, “To be honest I never really know what will emerge from my paper or canvas. When the spirit moves me, I just feel the need to create. That’s how my art almost just happens. It’s a very enjoyable pastime, and I hope others will be able to enjoy it as well!”
